17 Sep 08 Barclays Bank retains lead in African airport ads
Barclays Bank has launched a dominant airport advertising campaign in Uganda where Barclays have adopted area ownership of key sites and areas within the airport, targeting arriving and departing passengers as well as the busy meet-and-greet trade. The Entebbe Airport has recently been refurbished and boasts a modern banking hall where all major international banks have a presence. The media installed showcases the Barclays brand, and acts as a support medium for the banking facilities provided by Barclays at the airport, ensuring that they are the first choice for visitors wanting to buy local currency and transact at the branch. The media installation has been done by Alliance Media Uganda, who have recently been awarded the exclusive concession for both indoor and outdoor advertising at the International Airport. This is the first installation of many more planned executions for the newly refurbished airport. Gunilla Ouko, Marketing Manager of Barclays Uganda has expressed her delight of the new and innovative media placement which was not previously available at the airport. Barclays have a major presence in many African airports and their leading supplier in the project is Alliance Media, who are Africa’s largest airport advertising concession holder. Sites within Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport can be booked through uganda@alliancemedia.com. Other African airport and outdoor media can be booked through info@alliancemedia.com.
